Boiler repairs and servicing in North Devon
I'm George Lane, a Gas Safe engineer based in North Devon. I repair and service mains-gas boilers across North Devon, and I do every job myself.
- Know the cost before any work starts. A repair is £220 including VAT for all the labour, however long it takes. Parts are priced before they're fitted, and if you decide not to go ahead, you only pay £105.
- No pressure to buy a new boiler. I don't sell or fit them, so I'll tell you straight if a repair is worth it.
- No waiting in all day. You pick the time, and a text with a tracking link shows when I'm on the way.
Mains gas boilers only. No oil or LPG.
It's out of hours, so the quickest way to get booked in is online. Pick a time and you'll get a confirmation email straight away. Calls are answered Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

These are the prices you pay, with travel included.
Fixed-price boiler repair
£220for all labour & callouts, including VATAll the labour to get your boiler working again, however long it takes, including a return visit to fit parts. Parts are not included in the £220, but I'll tell you what you need and how much they are before they're fitted. If you decide not to go ahead, you only pay £105 for the visit.
Fixed-price heating repair
£220for all labour & callouts, including VATAll the labour to get your heating working again, whether it's the boiler, radiators, pump, valves or controls, however long it takes, including a return visit to fit parts. Parts are not included in the £220, but I'll tell you what you need and how much they are before they're fitted. If you decide not to go ahead, you only pay £105 for the visit.
Boiler service
£105standard, including VATThe yearly safety and combustion checks on a mains gas boiler. The full service is £185 including VAT, and adds a new burner gasket and a full clean of the heat exchanger and burner.
Landlord gas safety check
£105one appliance, including VATOne appliance and the certificate. Each extra appliance is £30, or £80 for a gas fire. The certificate is emailed to you, and I'll send you a reminder before the next check is due.
Unvented cylinder service
£105including VATThe yearly service on your unvented hot water cylinder, by a G3 qualified engineer. It's £52 if it's done on the same visit as a boiler service.
Smart thermostats
Pricedbefore I startHive, Tado or Nest, fitted and set up on your phone. There's no fixed price, because it depends on the thermostat and your wiring, but I'll let you know the cost before I start, so you can decide to go ahead or not.

Agree the parts price before anything's fitted
If the job needs a part, I'll give you the price of the part first, and then nothing is fitted until you say yes.

I work on Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Glow-worm, Potterton and Viessmann. Mains-gas boilers only: I don't work on oil or LPG, and I don't fit new boilers.
